Zest…

…soap! No…that’s not what I want to talk about today. How about zest, the food ingredient that is prepared by scraping or cutting from the outer, colorful skin of various citrus fruits, like lemon, orange or lime? No…not that either!

I want to talk about our zest…you know what I am talking about, right? Our zest for anything in life! Meaning our liveliness, energy or animated spirit for what we do, who we are and everything in life. Being without zest means we have no passion…for anything.

When you sail thru life on autopilot how can you possibly be living your life with zest? You can’t because all you’re doing is just going thru the motions and not really living. I ought to know, because I lived my life like that for a long time. Then I finally woke up out of my stupor (well, actually I was forced out of it) and realized that a whole lot of years had gone by and I wasn’t really living.

Now all that’s changed and I am happy to report that my zest for life has returned. I am happier than I’ve been in years and things are finally starting to happen for me.

So, please learn a lesson from me, before you wake up one day and realize that your life has past you by and you forgot to live it with zest. Figure out what you really want and go after it with all the passion you can muster. Be happy for what you have and don’t let high expectations be your downfall. Never take anything for granted. You are the maker of your own destiny; only you can make things happen. When you do all of this, you’ll never be disappointed.

Live your life to the fullest and live it with Zest!

Fill your life with moments of zest!

  1. A truly beuatiful reminder Susan. It gets very easy to become complacent with our lives and not have the zest you speak of. I'm glad you found yours and are living it every day!
